Delicious Pillow.

The last thing I posted was inspired by my love of storms. You can probably guess what inspired this one.

I heart Rainy Days.

We've had a few rainy days in Tulsa here lately. I have a bit of an obsession with weather and watching storms move in. They're so beautiful and they make me feel warm and cozy. Back in June it rained for almost a month straight. I loved every minute of it. We would open the windows and smell the rain. We would stand out in the driveway and watch the dark clouds hover over our house. However, everyone at work asked me to stop doing a rain dance, because the state was beginning to flood. So, I complied.

My love of rain was the inspiration for this bag.

Some churches still give..

Nathan and I seem to have a way of acquiring things for free or for a really good deal. Like for instance when we got married one of our friends gave us a dining room table. We eventually gave it away only to have it returned to us once we could use it again. Well, we've had to give it away again, because we needed its spot for a new treasure. My in-laws church had this piano and said whoever wanted to haul it could have it. Guess who hauled it?

Nathan and his friends have worked hard to get it cleaned up. It looks so much better than it did. The top still needs to be restored along with a few other minor issues. Since Nathan already has a piano in his studio this one will be mine. This is actually our third piano, but the other one is in Birmingham.

Imagine a church that gives something away...for free? No strings attached. Now there's a concept....

Jury duty ended up being a bit of a bore. I got a little bit of knitting done though. I almost got put on a murder trial that would have gone into this week. However, they got him to plead guilty. I'm glad, because I would not have enjoyed that in any way. Dude was in a gang!

I'm super busy these days preparing for Indie Emporium. I have lots more to make and just a little bit over a month to make it! My head is constantly buzzing trying to keep up with everything I have going on. I have numerous "to do" lists floating around. I'm not complaining though. I like being busy!

Some really kind people have given me free fabric lately. My craft room is overflowing with it right now. I've also discovered a few spots in Tulsa that are stocked with some cute vintage fabric. Here's some of what I bought this week...

I've also been organizing my craft room...

Here are some new projects...

That's all for now. I have lots more to post very soon!

Not so fun after all...

I was picked in the first jury group called this morning. So out of over 100 people they managed to pull my name? I'm on a lunch break right now, sitting at the library with my computer. I don't think I will actually be sitting on this trial, so back to the waiting pool I go. I hope I will get to sit for longer than 30 minutes! Gah. Oh and after walking around downtown for lunch, while lugging a big bag of stuff (that apparently wasn't needed) I'm thinking of ideas on how to make a COMFORTABLE laptop bag. My shoulders hurt. Ok, enough complaining. Back to sitting.

Taking advantage of my civic duty...

So, tomorrow morning I begin a week of jury duty. Is it weird that I'm kind of excited? The downtime will give me a chance to catch up on some reading. I'm planning to take my computer, so perhaps I will watch a movie as well. If I get picked then that could be interesting, too.

I made two new bags today. I've been in a tote making mood this weekend. I have so many things that I want to make and never enough time to do it all. The turquoise (it looks green but it's not) bag is on Etsy, but unfortch they are down for maintenance and I didn't get to post the khaki bag. I'll have to tomorrow. They're both $25. Oh, and thank you to Jenna for being my first Etsy purchase!! She bought the navy tote from my last post. I really appreciate the support! I hope you enjoy the bag.

Saturday Project

Here's my latest bag. I made a navy one and a green one. Two new bags for my Etsy store!

Nathan wanted in on the fun, so I gave him a quick sewing lesson. Check out his pillow. He's a natural.

So my Etsy store is up and running. What does this mean you ask? Well you can shop and buy my bags, pillows, and headbands online! I'm adding new items daily. I will also be adding a link to my store in the sidebar of my blog. Let me know if you have any questions or are interested in a custom made bag.

Can't breathe.

Being sick is stupid, especially during a 4-day weekend. Gah!
