$6 and 2 Garage Sales.

While running errands today, we stopped by two garage sales. We spent $6. We came home with a brand new extension cord, a dome for cheese that I will use for some other small treat, some old records, 2 small tables for plants, a Speak and Read, and a talking Whiz Kid (it's a computer, not a really smart child). Gosh, aren't we thrifty?

Gardening with Isabell.

I have been anxiously awaiting a warmer temperature. Not only is it good for my morale, but also because my green thumb wants to grow stuff. Today, I bought tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers. I'm starting out simple. We will see how this goes. I moved them inside to germinate, cause it's still a bit chilly out. (We had snow on the ground 3 days ago.)

I had already begun the process of growing herbs. They are just beginning to sprout. They seem to have grown more every time I walk into the kitchen. I have parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, lavender and eucalyptus.

Whenever we leave Isabell always dreams of accompanying us. Today we made that dream happen. We took her out with us to plant the veggies. She was a bit apprehensive at first.

Then she loved it. She couldn't get enough of the sounds and smells. I wish we had a longer leash for her. Yes, a leash and no we don't need a dog.

She can't wait to go out again.

Seriously, what the bleep do we really know?

I have something really interesting to share. Last night, Nathan showed me a movie that was absolutely amazing. It's called "What the Bleep Do We Know?" It's a movie about Quantum Physics.

In the movie they talk about a study that was done by a Japanese researcher, Dr. Masara Emoto. He did a test on water molecules. He wrote words on 3 bottles of water, "Thank You", "I love you", and "You make me sick. I want to kill you." He was testing to see how the molecules would react to these different emotions. Sounds crazy, right? Here are the results.

"From Mr. Emoto's work we are provided with factual evidence, that human vibrational energy, thoughts, words, ideas and music, affect the molecular structure of water, the very same water that comprises over seventy percent of a mature human body and covers the same amount of our planet. Water is the very source of all life on this planet, the quality and integrity are vitally important to all forms of life. The body is very much like a sponge and is composed of trillions of chambers called cells that hold liquid. The quality of our life is directly connected to the quality of our water." (http://www.life-enthusiast.com/twilight/research_emoto.htm)

It brings a whole new meaning to the idea that what you think and say effects your life. Also, think about how your words and actions effect others as well. You know the term, "giving off a vibe?" Well, I think there is truth in that. Being kind to someone really will effect them, as will being rude. That's a lesson we can all learn from. It makes everything I've ever heard about God fall into place.

Haaaaaaaappy Birthday

Well, 21 years ago today I went from being an only child to a sister. As much as I talk about how great my life was for those 3 years before Zac, you know having my parents full attention and admiration, I couldn't imagine life without my little brother. He's the only person who gets all my jokes and genuinely thinks they're funny. We think so much alike it's scary. Without him who would I have had to dress up in ridiculous outfits, like leotards and wigs simply for my own amusement? I love him so very much. I'm glad that my parents decided to add to the family. He's the best brother a girl could ask for...

Happy birthday Zac! I've still got on my hat, though the string is hurting my chin.

Isabell has issues with favoritism.

Isabell is way too attached to Nathan. It's a little over the top. No, I'm not jealous, whatever. It doesn't bother me when she meows at the door from the time he leaves until he comes back. Who cares. I don't care that she cuddles with him at night and lets him put his arm around her while they sleep. Why would I want to do that? It's not like she was my cat to begin with. I keep threatening her with the prospect of a new kitten. Whenever she chooses him over me I tell her that when we get a kitten he'll cuddle with me! So far this tactic hasn't worked. Blah.

Ahhh.. a second of rest.

I've been working a lot the past week! This is the first chance I've had to chill and update. There hasn't been anything super exciting going on. Oh, except this is the first year I've really had time to watch American Idol. I'm loving Taylor Hicks! AND he's from my hometown...woohoo. But I'm not going to be one of those people that goes on and on about it, seriously. So anyway I thought I would update with pictures. Everyone loves pictures, right?

Right now Isabell is watching Paul McCartney on PBS. (I'm not even kidding.) Also, she's started reading. She is so well-rounded.

You can probably guess who made this for her. Every cat needs a foil ball the size of their head. She loooooves it. Lately, my domestic bone has been aching. So, I've been cooking like crazy the past few days.

Ok, that's all.

Weather...

Well, it's playing with my emotions. The weather has been a tease the past few days. It was 9o degrees today! For a moment I thought it was summer. I wanted to lay out and eat watermelon and get a pedicure and wear flip flops. But alas it's barely March. We have the windows open right now and it feels amazing. You know what doesn't? Yeah our down comforter. Do you notice that my last post was about snow?
