A great excuse to wear my favorite dress.

Our friend and favorite photographer, Tony Li, needed some bridal photos for his portfolio. We had the appropriate attire so we helped him out. We may do some more with him later. These were slightly rushed. We have some other cool ideas for photos that we want to try as well.

Get your paws off.

The video of the week.

Well, that about sums it up.

My babies.

This morning I brought Jackson, the little boy I keep, by the apartment. He and Sherman have developed a very cute friendship. I sat him down on the floor and Sherman immediately ran over and sniffed his face. They also played with the laser pointer together. Jackson is still mostly crawling so he is right at Sherman's level.

Ok, so this picture was posed. I didn't have my camera ready when they greeted each other on their own. Aren't they cute? Jackson also tried to pet Isabell, but that was a big no go. She didn't want slobbery hands touching her. Understood.

No No No.

Something about going to Birmingham gives me a terrible case of baby fever. I normally don't think too much about it. I guess it's getting together with family and also hearing about how many people I grew up with are pregnant. It makes me feel like maybe I should be, too. There is a different mind sight back home. Most of the people I'm around in Tulsa didn't have children until they were in their 30's or are waiting until then. I really don't want them yet. Seriously. Earlier Sherman was asleep on Nathan's chest and he kept smiling at him and kissing him. It was so sweet and I found myself daydreaming that it was a baby. I also keep ending up on baby blogs where women talk about their pregnancy, they put up pregnancy pics, talk about labor, etc. The past 2 days at work I haven't wanted to put Jackson down. Ahhh!!

Must resist the desire to procreate...not time yet...Blah. Maybe we'll win the lottery this week. We've promised each other that if we win we'll immediately begin having lots of babies. Here's hoping. I'm going to go coddle Sherman.

Can you blow out that many candles?

Today is my mom's birthday. I just wanted to tell her Happy Birthday. She's the best mom. I love all of the crazy things we do together.
Some of those things include:
1. Going to homeless shelters to find out their prices for booking a wedding.
2. Getting hit on at a Nashville gas station and then being given beads both my mom and myself.
3. Making fake mother/daughter wedding pictures.
4. Being asked countless times if we're sisters then hearing her say, "Yes. She's the oldest."
5. Being asked way more times than necessary if we're twins.

I love her so much. My life would be very dull without her.

Happy 30th Birthday, Mom!!

Are you glad to be home?

I'm back home in lovely Tulsa after an eventful weekend in Birmingham. I wish that I had booked my trip for at least an extra day. I never do all the things I intend to, i.e. shop at the stores we don't have here, etc. It was wonderful, as always, to spend time with my family. My brother and I brought our powers together and had lots of laughs. We can read each other's minds you know.

Here's a rundown of my weekend:
Friday night was the Part 1 of the Fallin family reunion. (My mom's family for those of you who are confused thinking my last name was Franks. ) I've found out that there are quite a few people in the family who enjoy reading my blog, which is sweet. They were rehashing stories. I'm glad to know someone out there is getting a kick out of the things that go on around here, i.e. British flag thong clad mannequins. (Apparently, I have to give lots of examples in this post, i.e. all the examples.)

Saturday was Part Deux of the family reunion. You may be thinking "ew, family reunions are so drab and uncool." Not my family. We have such a blast. We laugh the whole time. My aunt Margo gave a slideshow from her travels back in the day. It made me want to visit Africa. My uncle Vance was there and he's awesome. He's one of my favorite people in the world and that's a short list. I also got to visit with Dana and Brian and of course Grand Bet Bet or Aunt Betty. It was so nice to see everyone.

Saturday night I went to see my best friends Patrick and Danika and my goddaughter, Peyton. I vowed as her godmother to buy her presents and give her candy. Zac and I arrived with gifts and loads of sugar. I enjoyed seeing her. She's getting so big!

Sunday was my mom's birthday party. I got to see a bunch of people I haven't seen in awhile. I stayed up till 1 and woke up this morning at 5 only to arrive on time for a delayed flight.

It's good to get back to my babies. I missed them.

Top 5 Most Asked Questions this weekend:
How's Nathan? (Great.)
Do you like Tulsa? (Flat, brown, and hot.)
When are you moving back to Birmingham? (Hmm?)
When are you leaving? (Early.)
Is that a tattoo? (Yes. It's my husband's initials.)
I know that people are just being sweet. But my voice is hoarse from talking so much this weekend. Next time what if I make a flyer?

(My brother will want me to add that his hair was only temporarily in a redneck mohawk.)
I have pictures to add, but someone hasn't sent them to me...cough...Zac. Check back. I'll add more soon.

Sooooo, I am currently in Birmingham. My dad flew me in last night as a surprise for my mom's birthday this weekend. I have never really surprised my mom like that before so I was kind of nervous. I got in last night around 8:30 and my dad picked me up from the airport. When we pulled up to the house I saw my mom by the window so I quickly ducked down and crawled out of the car. My dad walked inside first and I followed crouching behind. When I walked in she screamed!! She said it took her a second to process that I was there. It was awesome! The look on her face was priceless. (Zac took a picture, but I'm not allowed to post it. Blah)

Once she had recovered from the shock, we decided to go get some food cause I hadn't eaten. My mom recently got my dream car, a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Loves it. So, I drove the whole family on an excursion searching for a Chick-fil-a that was still open. After no luck and many nervous comments from my dad about my driving (um, I didn't hit anything, thank you), we settled on Krystal. It's evil, but delicious at least until you've finished eating at which time you immediately regret your choice.

(What a wretched picture, but yum.)

We have a big weekend planned. We have family reunion festivities tonight and tomorrow. Then Sunday night is my mom's birthday party. Let's just say it's a monumental age. She doesn't look a day over 30.

Now I must go lay by the pool. Ahh, I love coming home.

Videos are fun.

If you haven't yet clicked on my You Tube link, you should. Well, only if cat videos are of interest to you. But I mean why wouldn't they be?

Technically, my blog isn't supposed to be all about cats.

You should know that this new development makes me so happy. We were concerned that Isabell wouldn't enjoy a new baby. They have a sweet little relationship now. Shermy, as he is frequently called, is a cuddly little guy and a total mamma's boy.
Geez, I need to get a life.

Sibling Rivalry.

The kitties have been getting along a little better. They play a lot. Sherman makes an awful little squeal when he decides he's had enough, even if he was the instigator. Isabell shows little mercy, like a good big sister. Zac and I both know that I can totally still beat him up. (Aww, too bad he doesn't have his own blog to defend himself, sad.)

Just hit snooze.

There is a growing trend at our house.

Can you guess what it is?
We're the most well-rested family around. At night we have a new routine. Sherman lays down as close to me as humanly possible. He burys his head in my arm and curls up beside me. Then Isabell lays on my feet. This creates a difficult situation for me if I want to move at all during the night. Then everyone wakes up only long enough to find a new place to sleep.

Well played.

We got hit with some pretty wicked weather here the other night. It woke us up at 6:00 in the morning. I can't recall ever seeing so much lightening during a storm. It seemed to be raining more lighting than water. Our power was going on and off. The kitties sat in bed with us just watching how crazy the lightening was. As we were going back to sleep Nathan said, "And it's 6-6-06." Nice. The next morning we had a rough time coming up with breakfast that didn't require heat. We started heading towards one of our favorite diner's, but the traffic was awful. Obviously, we hadn't realized the extent of the damage. There were trees down everywhere and it seemed that no one had electricity including the place we wanted to eat. Apparently, a micro burst had hit at about 17th and Harvard. We live only about 5 blocks away. The frustrating part about it all was not having any way to watch the news or check the weather. We rode our bikes around town to assess the damage and Nathan took some pictures.

There's a house under there.

The Ferris wheel at Bell's amusement park.

Gotta love the smiling man.

We have our power back now or should I say we can get online again! I think I'd rather give up cool air and a cup of tea for the Internet....
