Tough kittens.

Nathan informed me a couple of weeks ago that our friends, John and Amanda's cat, Tofu, had gotten in some trouble and was pregnant. (As you may know I've been wanting a kitten.) The babies were born last Friday. There are four of them. We don't know which one we'll get, but they're sooooo cute. I went to see them Wednesday. They still haven't opened their eyes and you can't tell their sex yet. I picked up a little fuzzy grey one. He/she fit perfectly in the palm of my hand. I put him/her up to my face to talk to it. Then he/she hissed at me! It was hilarious. A tiny blind kitten was hissing. It made me sad though because he/she was scared. I'll have to taky my camera back with me next time. There is nothing cuter than a kitten.

Kid Friendly Kitty.

One of the little girls I keep, Abby who is almost 3, has been really wanting to meet Isabell. I've been trying to get them together, so the other day I went and got Abby and brought her over. Isabell was waiting by the door thinking I would soon be home to shower her and only her with love and attention. When I opened the door she saw me...then she noticed Abby. Isabell literally jumped back, like what have you brought home now?! (She hasn't had much experience with children.) Isabell, who is normally a social butterfly, kept hiding. She wanted little to do with the almost 3 year old. I finally had to pick up the wiggly cat so Abby could pet her. Once I realized that Isabell wasn't going to be friendly I tried to find something else to entertain Abby. She loved Nathan's office due to the instruments everywhere. Then I read her our only kids book "Everyone Poops"(um, which belongs to Nathan). She giggled through the whole book. So cute.

(No, I don't need my own children.)

A year older.

This past weekend was very fun due to my brother coming to visit and my birthday. Last Thursday I turned 24. Nathan and I celebrated me gaining another years worth of wisdom by eating dinner in the park. Afterwards, I needed a cookie cake. Every year since I was old enough to have an opinion on cake, my mom has made a cookie cake. MMM. Since my mom doesn't live here and Nathan isn't into baking I made my own. I thought it was kind of sad, so to contribute Nathan said he'd decorate it. First he made an "A" and then he did the border. I tried to tell him how to make a flower, which is the poop like dot below the "A". He then drew the arrow. He says it means I am a flower. However, I can't help but think it says "Amby is poop". Either way it was really cute that he decorated it.

Then on Sunday we celebrated again at Nathan's parents. His mom got me a serious cookie cake. In case you aren't familiar with serious cookie cakes, it was a double decker with icing in the middle. It was quite yummy.

We had some good times with my brother. He left yesterday. Nathan and I both keep thinking he's here. We weren't ready for him to leave yet. Isabell, or Neiceabella as Zac calls her, was also sad to see him go. She once again tried to protest. Unfortunately, the 10 pounds of cat on Zac's suitcase didn't keep him here.

Am I a bad parent?

Sometimes the children (children=cat) won't quit meowing for you to open doors that they have no business passing through. Only once you finally give in and get up off your comfy couch to open the door, they decide it's no longer of interest to them...Sometimes they beg for food you know they won't eat, i.e. onions, tomatoes, garlic, green beans, cilantro. You try and tell them, "You're a cat you don't eat, onions, tomatoes, garlic, green beans, or cilantro..." They continue telling you that in fact they do eat onions, tomatoes, garlic, green beans and cilantro." Then when you finally give in, bend down and put it by their mouth they turn their nose up and trot off... Sometimes they decide to sleep all night up until you decide it's time to go to bed, so not only is it hard to go to sleep, but it's hard to stay asleep the next morning due to foil balls being pawed around... Well, when these things happen SOMETIMES you reach your wits end and must find a solution...
Does this make me a bad parent?

I let her sit there staring at the TV hours on end (the DVD loops, convenient, I know.)
Another species is being desensitized.
(Oh, and yes that's a Nintendo and uh, yes I play it. Mario rocks.)

Last week I went home to visit my family. I haven't been home since Christmas. We had a couple of things to celebrate early, i.e. my birthday and Easter. It was also the first time Nathan and I had been apart since we got married. It was weird to be away from him. I'm sure he cried a lot while I was gone. However, considering how much of our relationship has been spent apart 5 days is nothing!

Isabell and Nathan tried to come up with a way to keep me from leaving. Unfortunately, it failed. Tisha came down to visit. We had good times.

Zac met some new ladies.

Everything was funny.

Staying at my parents always feels like a vacation.

I miss them.

New Template.

I'm trying to update the look of my blog. However, I'm not sure how long this one will be around. I'm trying to get everything moved over to my website.
